PSG ultras chanted against Lionel Messi and Neymar outside their headquarters, upon learning that the Argentine is set to leave the club. Messi will not be renewing his contract, and will depart as a free agent after two years.

The fans also chanted against Neymar, telling him to “get lost” in spite of having a contract until 2027. While the club have been firmly in control of the Ligue 1 title race for years, they haven’t been able to perform well in the Champions League. And after months of chanting against Messi at matches, they took their frustration to the road.

PSG fans chant against Messi and Neymar outside HQ

“Paris Saint-Germain most strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals that took place on Wednesday,” an official statement from the club read.

“Whatever the differences of opinion, nothing justifies such actions. The Club gives its full support to its players, its staff and all those targeted by such shameful behaviour.”

After news broke that the 35-year-old World Cup winner will leave the club in the summer, rumours have emerged that Neymar is looking to leave as well. The Brazilian still is the most expensive player of all-time, but has failed to make a consistent impact in France due to his struggles with injury.

This season, Bayern Munich eliminated PSG from the Champions League at the group stage. Since the World Cup, the fans have seemingly turned on Messi and are booing him at every chance. And that has done no favours to making the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner want to stay.
