Real Madrid recently submitted a bid worth over €200 million for PSG star Kylian Mbappe. Los Blancos previously made offers worth €160 million and €180 million respectively, but were rejected by the French club on both occasions.
According to Sky Sports, PSG are not responding to Madrid’s latest proposal and the Spanish giants have been left furious over the way the Mbappe transfer saga has been handled by his current club. Nasser Al-Khelaifi was very particular about stating that they want to keep Mbappe at the club, and if he left, it would be on their terms.
It seems now that the second-highest transfer fees in history is not enough to persuade them to sell Mbappe, even though he only has a year left on his current deal. Madrid were previously reported to have dropped out of negotiations for Mbappe, but have made one last effort on deadline day to try and recruit the player this summer.
Should PSG not choose to engage with the La Liga giants, Madrid will be patiently waiting for January. At the turn of the year, Mbappe will be allowed to agree to a pre-contract agreement with Madrid, and he could sign their offer prior to joining them. So, Mbappe could fulfill his dream of playing for Madrid by joining them as a free agent.
Florentino Perez made a surprise bid for Eduardo Camavinga in the last 24 hours and sealed the transfer extremely fast, signing a different French wonderkid in the process. As for Mbappe, it is not a question of ‘if’, but rather, ‘when’ the player will be holding up the white shirt as a new Madrid player.
