Paris Saint-Germain are turning their attention to Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos as a potential transfer target. The French club were trying to sign Gianluca Scamacca, but are not willing to pay the €50 million price tag that Sassuolo are asking for.
The 21-year-old is a very talented forward, having come through the Benfica academy. He made 29 appearances in the domestic league and scored 7 goals, working alongside Darwin Nunez, who recently moved to Liverpool.
Goncalo Ramos a potential target for PSG alongside Hugo Ekitike
Goncalo Ramos has earned 18 caps for the Portugal U21 team, and has been quite prolific in his form, scoring 14 goals. He has a deal with Benfica until 2026, which has a €120 million release clause. As a result, it will be difficult for PSG to negotiate a deal for him.
Hugo Ekitike has also been rumoured as a potential target for the French giants this summer. The Reims striker has been linked with a move to Newcastle United as well. But, the Ligue 1 club rejected their latest offer for him.
As a result, PSG are now in a position to sign him if they can agree a deal with Reims for the transfer fee. The 20-year-old proves the change in the transfer strategy of the club, following the arrival of Luis Campos. They are now going after younger and lesser known players that can be developed into stars, in contrast to their strategy over recent years.
