PSG are stepping up their efforts to recruit Jose Mourinho as their new head coach. The Special One is currently in charge of Roma, having helped them win their first UEFA trophy last season – the inaugural Conference League.
This year, he is guiding the Giallorossi to a top four challenge, and has also helped them make it to the semi-finals of the Europa League. His contract with them expires in 2024, and PSG will have to negotiate with Roma in order to get him to sign this summer.

Reports suggest that negotiations are in an advanced stage between PSG sporting director Luis Campos, and Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes. Campos has known the Roma manager since their university days, and is keen on a reunion this summer.
However, Jose Mourinho isn’t the only manager on the club’s shortlist as they are also keeping tabs on others. Thiago Motta and Julian Nagelsmann are two other options that are being considered. But the dream for them is to convince Zinedine Zidane, who has been out of a job since leaving Real Madrid.
“I don’t talk to friends, comrades, journalists. If a few months ago our CEO [Pietro] Berardi said he was sure I would stay, that is his interpretation. If this time Mr. Zazzaroni [a journalist] said what he said is an interpretation of him, I’m not talking to anyone. The situation is clear, from a contractual point of view I still have one year on my contract. Football is football, sometimes contracts aren’t the most important thing. All good, all calm, the next one is always the most important game,” Mourinho said recently in response to speculation about his future.
