## Why Is Project Hail Mary Performing So Well?

Let’s be real — Indian audiences don’t always rush to theatres for Hollywood sci-fi unless it’s *Interstellar* or Marvel. But *Project Hail Mary* has cracked the code with its emotional storytelling and brilliant premise. Based on [Andy Weir’s bestselling novel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Hail_Mary), the film follows Ryland Grace, a middle-school science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship with no memory, only to discover he might be Earth’s last hope. His unlikely friendship with an alien named Rocky has been winning hearts globally.

A sequel is already being discussed, which tells you everything about how well it’s tracking.

The film is projected to close its India theatrical run around **₹50 crore gross** if the second and third weeks hold steady — an exceptional benchmark for a non-franchise sci-fi outing.
