Monu Goyat

Monu Goyat, the standout superstar of the 2018 Pro Kabaddi season, witnessed a shocking turn of events at the auction. In 2018, he created history by becoming the first PKL player to command a bid exceeding INR 1 crore. Haryana Steelers secured his services for a staggering 1.51 crore rupees. That season, Goyat amassed a remarkable 164 points, but his performance dipped significantly in subsequent years. Last season, while playing for the Telugu Titans, he managed to score only 30 points, and to everyone’s surprise, he went unsold at the PKL Auction 2023.

Rohit Kumar

Rohit Kumar, a former Pro Kabaddi champion, has faced disappointment for the second consecutive season. Despite going unsold in the previous year’s auction, he was later picked up by the Gujarat Giants as a replacement player. Rohit began his PKL career in 2016 with the Patna Pirates and enjoyed a remarkable start, accumulating over 100 raid points in his first two seasons. He later emerged as one of the league’s star raiders while playing for the Bengaluru Bulls, leading the team to a title win in 2018. However, his performance took a nosedive in 2019, which led to his unsold status for two seasons in a row.

Surender Nada

Surender Nada, the renowned left corner specialist and one of the most successful defenders in the league, went unsold in the PKL Auction 2023. This decision followed an underwhelming performance with the Bengal Warriors last season, during which he managed to score only 11 points from 10 matches. Despite his illustrious track record with over 300 tackle points to his name, Nada’s unsold status raises questions about the dynamics of the PKL.

Deepak Hooda

Deepak Hooda, a former skipper of the Indian Kabaddi team, surprisingly failed to attract any bidders in the auction. Despite his impressive credentials, the teams opted for younger talents over him. Hooda’s best season came in 2018 when he scored a massive 208 points while playing for the Jaipur Pink Panthers. However, his performance dwindled, and in the previous season, he managed just 56 points in 17 matches, sealing his fate as an unsold player.
