East Bengal have completed the signing of Priyangka Devi Naorem on a permanent deal to bolster their IWL squad. The 21-year-old forward’s arrival has now been confirmed by TOI’s Marcus Mergulhao, as the Red and Golds continue to be active in the transfer window.
The midfielder has several offers on the table from other IWL clubs, but choose East Bengal and has signed a two-year deal with them. They have already added Sandhiya Raganathan to their team, the second highest scorer in the league. And with a playmaker like Priyangka also in the team, they could be set for a very strong season.

Naorem was named the Emerging Player of the Year in 2022 when she was with the Indian Arrows. She had a top season in 2022, and went on to join Kerala Blasters before her move to East Bengal last week.
The Torch Bearers have been very proactive in rebuilding their squad across the ISL, IWL and CFL ahead of the new season. They have gone after high profile names on all fronts, and have added a national team duo to their ranks to improve their chances of winning the women’s league title this year.
Now, it remains to be seen if the new players can form a cohesive unit on the pitch and deliver as expected.
