The 22/23 season is ending in two months, and so are the contracts of many footballers. In this article, we will take a look at the best Premier League out of contract XI at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Without a renewal, these players will be able to leave on a free transfer and join any club of their choosing. For this list, the players included have not officially agreed to join any club in spite of rumours.

The Manchester United goalkeeper was one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signings. And over the years, he has made a reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He is turning 33 soon, and United are trying to negotiate a contract with a lower wage since he isn’t viewed as irreplaceable anymore.

RB: Joel Veltman (Brighton)

One of Brighton’s unsung heroes, Veltman has been very consistent since joining them in 2020. And at the end of this season, he is out of a contract and this could provide an opportunity to Tariq Lamptey to step up.

CB: Caglar Soyuncu (Leicester City)

Soyuncu isn’t the same rock as the back for the Foxes anymore, and has had to endure a shocking drop in form. He is expected to leave this summer and is being linked with a free transfer to Atletico Madrid.

CB: Yerry Mina (Everton)

Mina joined Everton in 2018 from Barcelona, but hasn’t been able to be consistent due to his fitness issues. With other options now available for Sean Dyche, the Colombia international could be allowed to leave for free.

LB: Nelson Semedo (Wolves)

Wolves took a gamble with Semedo, signing him for £30 million from Barcelona. But, their gamble hasn’t paid off and the defender is expected to leave as a free agent to make way for new options.

CDM: N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

N’Golo Kanté was back on the pitch for friendly game earlier this week… and the negotiations over new contract are still ongoing and progressing well to final stages 🔵 #CFC

Arguably the most prolific player in the Premier League out of contract XI, Kante has been locked in talks to renew his contract with Chelsea. But, there hasn’t been any agreement as of yet. Injuries have hampered his playing time this season, but Kante remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the league.

CM: Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)

Tielemans was strongly linked with Arsenal in the past, but a transfer didn’t materialise. He is now expected to leave for free, after a drop in form which has seen Leicester struggle to stay up in the Premier League.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)

Gundogan has an offer from Barcelona, as well as an offer from Man City to renew. But, he still finds himself on the Premier League out of contract XI since he is yet to decide his future as things stand.

LW: Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)

🚨 Tottenham are interested in signing Wilfried Zaha on a free when his contract expires at Crystal Palace in the summer.

Zaha has been linked with a transfer away from Palace for years. But this time, it is different since he is out of contract. The winger hasn’t accepted their big-money renewal offer and could leave for a new opportunity if he decides it’s time to move on, one of the best for Premier League out of contract XI.

RW: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Liverpool)

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been out of the first team picture for months, and will now be let go of. He is yet to decide on a new club, after a rather blunt spell with Liverpool.

CF: Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

Firmino himself has confirmed that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, making him the final inclusion in the Premier League out of contract XI. The Brazilian has been a cult hero with the fans but has now decided it is time to move on after a change in the first team picture.
