Premier League Golden Boot award is one of the most prestigious individual seasonal football awards, where the leading goal-scorer of a Premier League season secures this award. In the case of multiple leading goal-scorers in a PL season, all these players win this prestigious award.
In 30 Premier League seasons (till 2021/22 season), 38 Golden Boots have been awarded, including multiple winners in five seasons. A total of 25 players have won at least one PL Golden Boot award.

Michael Owen, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Robin van Persie – 2 times each
Former English footballer Michael Owen, Dutch footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Ivorian star Didier Drogba and Dutch footballer Robin van Persie all won the Premier League Golden Boot awards twice each.
Owen won this award for Liverpool in 1997/98 (18 goals in 36 games) and 1998/99 (18 goals in 30 games), both jointly.
In the 1998/99 season, Leeds United’s Hasselbaink won his first PL Golden Boot award (18 goals in 36 games) along with Owen and Dwight Yorke. Later, serving for Chelsea, Hasselbaink won his second such award in the 2000/01 season, where he scored 23 times in 35 matches.
Drogba won both of his PL Golden Boot awards for Chelsea in 2006/07 (20 goals in 36 games) and 2009/10 (29 goals in 32 matches) seasons. Chelsea won the PL trophy in the 2009/10 season.
Van Persie won two consecutive PL Golden Boot awards but for two different teams. In the 2011/12 season, the Arsenal player scored 30 goals in 38 matches. In the next season (2012/13), he helped Manchester United to win the PL title by scoring 26 times in 38 games.
Alan Shearer – 3 times
Former English star Alan Shearer was the first footballer to win two successive Premier League Golden Boots and three consecutive Golden Boot awards.
Shearer won his first two PL Golden Boot awards for Blackburn Rovers (1994/95 and 1995/96) and completed a hat-trick of this special award for Newcastle United (1996/97).
While Blackburn Rovers won their first PL title and third first division trophy in the 1994/95 season, Shearer equalled another English legend Andy Cole’s record (34 goals in 40 matches in 1993/94 season) of most goals in a PL season with 34 goals in 42 games.
In the 1995/96 season, Blackburn star Shearer scored 31 goals in 35 games. In the next season, the Newcastle footballer scored 25 goals in 31 matches.
Harry Kane – 3 times
Tottenham Hotspur’s English legendary striker Harry Kane has also enjoyed three Premier League Golden Boot awards.
In the 2015/16 season, Kane first time won his PL Golden Boot award with 25 goals in 38 matches. He then won the same award at the end of the next season with 29 goals in 30 games.
In the 2020/21 season, Kane scored 23 goals in 35 matches to win his third PL Golden Boot award.
Mohamed Salah – 3 times
Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah has already won three Premier League Golden Boots, the best such record by an African player.
The Egyptian footballer started his PL career in the 2017/18 edition, where he won his first PL Golden Boot award after recording 32 goals in 36 matches.
In 2018/19, while three players won the PL Golden Boot award by scoring 22 goals each (Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane), Salah was one of them (38 matches).
In 2021/22, Salah once again jointly won the PL Golden Boot award along with Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min while both scored 23 goals in 35 matches.
Thierry Henry – 4 times
Former French striker Thierry Henry is holding the record of winning most Premier League Golden Boots by securing it four times. He was one of the greatest players in English PL history while he is still holding Arsenal’s all-time top-scorer record.
Henry won his first PL Golden Boot award in the 2001/02 edition when his Arsenal won their second PL trophy. The first French player to win the PL Golden Boot award then scored 24 goals in 33 PL games.
Arsenal star Henry then won three successive PL Golden Boot awards in 2003/04 (30 goals in 37 matches), 2004/05 (25 goals in 32 matches) and 2005/06 (27 goals in 32 games) seasons respectively. Out of those three seasons, the Gunners won another PL trophy in the 2003/04 edition.
