Official: Premier League 24/25 season dates confirmed

The Premier League has confirmed the start and end date for the 2024/25 season, adding that there will be no fixtures on Christmas Eve. The new season will begin exactly 90 days after the current one ends, in the middle of which, the Euros will take place.

Hence, players whose teams that have qualified for the European Championships will have another task on their hands as the fixture list continues to grow. Depending on how far they make it into the tournament, they might have very little rest in between seasons.

The new Premier League season will begin on 17 August 2024 and will end on 25 May 2025. This year, Wolves host Chelsea on Christmas Eve to the disappointment of several fans. However, this won’t be the case next year as there will be a gap during the holiday season.

The fixtures for the next season will be announced in due course, once the 24/25 season draws closer. However, even that will be subject to change owing to other competitions and how they tie in.

The expanded format of the Champions League could also play a part in changing things when it comes to the fixture, and adding to the pressure of the schedule for players.
