Fresh off dominating pan-India cinema with KGF and Salaar, [Prashanth Neel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prashanth_Neel) is stepping into unfamiliar territory. While deep in production on his Jr NTR-starrer *Dragon*, the filmmaker is also presenting a horror film titled **418** — and its release date is now locked.

Backed by Mythri Movie Makers (the studio behind the *Pushpa* franchise), 418 marks the directorial debut of **Kirtan Nadagouda**, who has previously worked as an assistant director under Neel. The film releases in theatres on **July 31, 2026**.

## What We Know So Far

The first-look poster leans into pure dread — framed through a door’s keyhole, it shows a girl sitting alone in a room, her back turned to the viewer. Mythri Movie Makers captioned the reveal with a simple, ominous line about fear beginning behind that door.

With the release just weeks away, a trailer drop is expected soon.

Meanwhile, Neel’s own directorial slate remains packed. His next big-ticket film, co-starring Jr NTR, Anil Kapoor, and Rukmini Vasanth, is set for a grand release in June 2027 — meaning 418 is very much a side project squeezed in between his larger commitments.
