# B Praak Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra Reveals Its Lone Song URL: https://technosports.co.in/praak-meghna-daayra-song/ Published: 2026-09-06 Updated: 2026-09-06 Author: Reetam Bodhak A single song in a Bollywood film used to mean a love ballad squeezed between nine reels of dialogue. In Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming *Daayra*, that one song carries the weight of three legends — B Praak’s voice, Gulzar’s pen, and Amit Trivedi’s composition. The reveal, dropped exclusively ahead of the film’s release window, confirms what trade insiders had been whispering since the director locked her rough cut. Here’s the thing: most directors treat background songs as filler. Meghna Gulzar treats them as punctuation. *Raazi* had three. *Talvar* had silence. *Daayra* has one — and she picked the most emotionally combustible voice in Punjabi-Bollywood pop to carry it. ![B Praak](https://technosports.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/B-Praak.jpg) ## Praak Meghna: The Collaboration Behind Daayra’s Sole Song B Praak is the sole singer featured in the only song in *Daayra*. The track is penned by legendary lyricist Gulzar and composed by Amit Trivedi, reportedly marking a first-time pairing of these three names on a Meghna Gulzar project. Production company and OTT platform details for *Daayra* have not been confirmed in the available source extract, leaving the release architecture — theatrical, direct-to-streaming, or hybrid — open for now. The film *Daayra* contains only one song, making it a notably sparse musical offering by mainstream Bollywood standards. For a director whose filmography includes *Raazi* (2018) and *Chhapaak* (2020), both of which balanced narrative tension with measured soundtracks, trimming the song count to a single track signals a deliberate tonal choice. Less melody, more weight. ## Why B Praak, Gulzar, and Trivedi Matter Together B Praak built his career on emotional devastation — “Filhaal,” “Mann Bharryaa,” “Teri Mitti” — the kind of ballads that soundtrack a character’s breaking point. Pairing him with Gulzar, a Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient (2013) whose lyrics have shaped Hindi cinema for over five decades, creates a tonal collision that Bollywood hasn’t attempted in years. Gulzar writes in fragments, metaphors, silences. Praak sings in ache. > “When a director chooses one song, she’s choosing what the audience will remember when the credits roll.” Amit Trivedi’s composition slot completes the triangle. His previous work on *Dev.D* (2009) and *Queen* (2014) proved he can build minimal arrangements that still feel cinematic — exactly the texture a single-track film demands. Industry watchers tracking the *Daayra* soundtrack rollout note that Trivedi’s restraint here mirrors his *Kedarnath* approach, where instrumentation served character rather than chart position. ## What the Single-Song Choice Signals A film with one song is a film that trusts silence. The decision to feature B Praak as the only vocalist, with Gulzar’s words and Trivedi’s score, suggests *Daayra* is positioning itself as a performance-driven drama rather than a music-led entertainer. Meghna Gulzar’s filmography skews toward thrillers and human dramas — *Talvar* (2015) ran almost entirely on tension, not tunes. This matters because Bollywood’s single-song experiments are rare. *Gangs of Wasseypur* had a full album. *Kabir Singh* had five. *Udta Punjab* leaned on Trent Reznor-style electronica. Stripping back to one track forces the audience to sit with the story’s emotional architecture — a gamble that could either feel austere or revelatory depending on execution. ## What’s Next for Daayra The release date of *Daayra* has not been officially confirmed in the available source extract. What we know: the film exists, it has exactly one song, and that song features B Praak singing Gulzar’s words over Amit Trivedi’s composition. That’s enough to set the trade press buzzing through September. For fans tracking Meghna Gulzar’s next move after *Sam Bahadur* (2023), this Praak Meghna Gulzar Daayra combination reads as a tonal reset — less patriotic bombast, more interior ache. If the song lands the way the credits suggest, the film’s entire emotional thesis will rest on those few minutes. **One song. Three legends. Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra bets its entire emotional payoff on B Praak singing Gulzar’s lyrics to Amit Trivedi’s score.** ## Related Articles - [MobLand Season 3 Renewed at Paramount+: Tom Hardy Returns](https://technosports.co.in/mobland-season-3-renewed-at-paramount-tom-hardy/) - [Emmy Rossum's Furious Crosses 43 Million Hours Watched on Hulu: Season 2 Already Renewed](https://technosports.co.in/emmy-rossums-furious-43-million-hours-watched/) - [Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross, and Milla Jovovich Join Heated Rivalry Season 2](https://technosports.co.in/kevin-paul-milla-heated-rivalry-season-2/) --- ## FAQs ### Who sings the only song in Meghna Gulzar's Daayra?
