In March 2020, no one would have expected that COVID-19 pandemic would lead to complete lockdowns and bring a major change in attitude of people. The way we work, communicate, travel, and interact with others has changed after COVID-19. The pandemic is possibly behind us as majority of people have been vaccinated but health experts predict that there can be additional waves of COVID-19 infections. But, the world is much better prepared now to deal with these waves compared to March 2020. The change in lifestyle and work culture has been fueled by increased use of online services.

Video Communication and Technology Goes Mainstream

Communication has changed after COVID-19. People are now comfortable using video conferencing applications like ZOOM, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace and Webex Meetings. Video conferencing technologies were mostly used by corporate world but COVID-19 took this service mainstream.

This will be good for remote education and online courses offered by various reputed Universities across the world.

Online gaming, casino games and online sports-betting have picked up pace during the lockdowns. During the pandemic, land-based casinos were closed and people shifted to online platforms. Many companies had no option during pandemic but to allow their workforce to work remotely. However, latest data suggests that this trend will continue in the future as well. Many people find working remotely easy and relaxing. Certain studies conducted in Western Europe suggest that workers have better output when they are working remotely.

Fitness Applications Gain as People Turn Health Conscious

People started following fitness schedules and the trend for healthy eating has witnessed higher interest during pandemic. Considering high demand for fitness, even technology major Apple has started offering Fitness service to its consumers.

The pandemic has changed our lives in many ways. A lot of people started baking at home while they were trying to do something creative while staying at home. The use of technology in all these remote tasks has been of paramount importance. Everything we do, our smartphone or handheld devices are there. While many people lost their dear ones during pandemic and that loss can never be fulfilled, the human race has learnt many lessons in survival during the tough times. We should hope for the best and be prepared for any such calamity in the future as well.
