The summer window has been busy for Manchester United. Jadon Sancho has been confirmed. Names like Raphael Varane, Kieran Trippier, Saul, and Eduardo Camavinga might follow the trails to Old Trafford. Since John Murtough’s appointment as the football director, he has made sure that action has been undertaken to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strengthen his squad.

The desperation for silverware will be at an all-time high this season. Solskjaer has a point to prove this season. Over the season big names have been brought in with no end results. Last season though it seemed that we were seeing the United that legends speak of. Although some loopholes remain and the newer signings will look to fill them. With an embarrassment of riches at his dispense, Solskjaer may line up United in a 4-3-3 formation next season.

The Defence

Goalkeeper: DEAN HENDERSON

De Gea is no more than a shadow of what he used to be. Meanwhile, England international Henderson has proven to be more commanding. Henderson’s form has been impressive and he has made it clear that he no longer wants to stay second fiddle. Solskjaer will be looking to give him a chance this season as their first-choice goalkeeper.

Right-Back: AARON WAN-BISSAKA

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is growing. He is incredible in some areas and needs massive improvements in others. But he is improving with every match and remains a starter in his position.

Centre-Back: RAPHAEL VARANE

Oh if this happens! What a dream it would be for United. A top-tier center-back is all they need at the moment to compliment Harry Maguire. If the deal comes through, be ready to see him serve one half of perhaps the Premier League’s best central defensive duo.

Centre-Back: HARRY MAGUIRE

Maguire is improving as a defender every passing day it seems. A fan favorite for England this summer, he has come a long way. Solskjaer had entrusted him with the captain’s armband and he has done more than justice to it. He has been excellent with the ball in the air or on his feet. There is no reason why we won’t see him achieve his best levels by the coming season.

Left-Back: LUKE SHAW

Even the signing of Alex Telles couldn’t shake Luke Shaw away from being a constant starter last season. His influence has only grown with time and his recent performances for England at Euro 2020 were nothing short of superb. It is no doubt that Shaw will remain United’s first-choice left-back. We only want more of his dashing runs down the channel next season.

The Midfield

Defensive Midfielder: SAUL NIGUEZ

If the news is correct and Saul does leave Athletico Madrid to join Manchester United, he will be crucial for Solskjaer’s 4-3-3 formation plans. Saul is an excellent player and could be gotten for an economic price this window. If this happens he will fit neatly into the No 6 role.

Central Midfielder: BRUNO FERNANDES

Fernandes is United’s most important player. An ambitious figure whose performances inspired his teammates to perform better. He has flourished at United as a No 10 but his responsibilities will change in a double pivot role. His ambitions to lay hands on silverware with the Red Devils only grows. This season might be the perfect one for the Portuguese to achieve that.

Central Midfielder: PAUL POGBA

There is news that Pogba might be on his way to PSG but if he stays, he’s the one guarding the midfield of Old Trafford. Just the thought of him playing next to Fernandes is mouth-watering. They have often created an excellent effect when they played together in the past.

The Attack

Right Winger: JADON SANCHO

After years of waiting, Jadon Sancho is at Manchester United. But now that he is here, Sancho will fit perfectly into their right-wing spot for the years to come. The tricky winger is famous for his firepower in the front. His form will be essential to give United a chance at the league title.

Left Winger: MARCUS RASHFORD

The United academy graduate had another excellent year in terms of numbers. Losing the Euro 2020 final was a bit hard on Rashford but he has a huge portion of his career ahead of him. He is Solskjaer’s go-to option as a starter and will look to start the season with the same influence. Rashford is a truly special player, being lethal both while playing down the middle or while drifting in from outside. As it is rightly said, he is United’s future!

Striker: EDINSON CAVANI

Signed as a free agent last summer, Cavani has shown his class to England. What a wonderful season he has had! With an extension contract signed, Cavani will stay at Old Trafford for another year. Solskjaer will love working with Cavani for another season as he remains United’s first-choice striker. Cavani is a perfect replacement for an injury-prone Martial and is also an inspiring dressing room figure.
