What Makes the X8 Pro Series Stand Out
This launch is notable for a few reasons. The Pro Max is a first — POCO has never introduced a Pro Max variant in its X series before. And it arrives with the Dimensity 9500s, a flagship-grade chip that rivals the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in multi-core performance, hitting an AnTuTu score of 31 lakh in testing — territory that was exclusive to flagships like the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R just months ago.
Both phones are essentially rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max — which, given that the Turbo series is Redmi’s internal performance flagship, means POCO is starting from a very strong hardware base.
The Dynamic RGB lights — dual LED rings around each rear camera lens — are a genuine design statement. They respond to calls, notifications, music, and gaming events, similar in spirit to Nothing’s Glyph Interface but far more visible.
The IP69K rating is unusually aggressive for this price band — it means resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, not just basic splash protection. That’s the kind of spec you’d expect on a rugged phone, not a performance mid-ranger.
Battery life is where these phones go all-in. The X8 Pro’s 7,560mAh already puts it among the largest-battery flagships in India. The X8 Pro Max’s 9,000mAh is extraordinary — paired with 100W charging, you’re looking at marathon battery life with sub-90 minute recharge times.
The X8 Pro also brings back a 32MP periscope telephoto lens — making it a triple-camera phone with genuine zoom capability, which was missing from POCO’s X7 Pro.
Both phones go on sale via Flipkart from March 17. For our hands-on review post-launch, follow our POCO X8 Pro series coverage on Technosports. And for how these stack up against the competition, check our best phones under ₹50,000 guide on Technosports.
