POCO Laptop May Soon come in Indian Market as Suggested by BIS Certification

Poco laptop launch has so far been a mystery. But in a fresh development, a Redmi G series laptop battery has been spotted receiving a certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with Poco’s branding. This suggests that the Chinese brand might be considering the official launch of its laptop in India. It could just be a Redmi G-series model but with the Poco label. The brand which got separated from Xiaomi last year was also due to launch its new true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds and smartwatch.

The listing has been spotted on India’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) by noted tipster Mukul Sharma. As mentioned by Sharma in a new tweet, the listing shows a Redmi G series laptop battery on BIS under the branding of Poco. Though it is not a confirmation that the company will be using it for a laptop anytime soon, it surely can be taken as a very valid hint at the same.

As mentioned in a report by 91mobiles, this is not the first time that such a listing has surfaced, wherein the battery of a Xiaomi device has been shown under the Poco brand name. Despite the fact that it has the POCO logo. It is a 3,620mAh cell (15.2V, 55.02Wh), and it appears to be a replacement battery for the Redmi G and Redmi G Gaming laptops. As a result, the corporation may be planning to offer a gaming laptop in the region.

If we believe the speculations and if POCO decided to rebrand the Redmi G series laptops, for example, the Redmi G 2021 or use the battery in a whole new product. If the latter is true, we may expect a 16.1-inch 144Hz refresh rate display, 11th-generation Intel Core i5/Ryzen 7 5800 processors, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage, as well as the 55Wh battery that we’ve seen in Redmi laptop.

Although one should remember this is not the first time such a listing has surfaced online. However, this is the first time something of this sort has surfaced since the company has hinted at its efforts to expand its portfolio to more than smartphones. So, we could possibly be seeing a Poco laptop soon in India.
