POCO, a smartphone brand, appears to be gearing up for the release of a new phone in its C-series, possibly named POCO C61, set to debut in both India and globally. Although the company has not disclosed any details yet, recent findings from Bluetooth SIG listing and BIS certifications suggest an imminent launch. The product listings also suggest that the device could potentially be a rebadged version of the released Redmi A3.
The Upcoming POCO C61
According to the Bluetooth SIG listing for the POCO C61, uncovered by MSP, the model number is 2312BPC51H establishing the name of the smartphone. This listing also discloses that the POCO C61 will be compatible with Bluetooth 5.4 protocol and will come with Android 14 pre-installed. Additionally, the BIS certification further validates the model number of the device as 2312BPC51H.
In terms of specifications details about the POCO phone have not been revealed in these certifications. However, there are reports indicating that POCO is planning to launch the POCO C61 as a revised version of the Redmi A3 recently introduced in India. Drawing from what’s known about Redmi A3s features one can make guesses about what specifications might be present in the POCO C61.
The Redmi A3 showcases a 6.7-inch HD display with a rate of 90Hz and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G36 processor and features an AI-powered dual rear camera setup with an 8MP lens along with a facing selfie camera rated at 5MP. Storage options for this device include variants like 3GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, and 6GB+128GB along with storage up to 1TB, through an SD card slot. To keep it running all day long it packs a 5,000mAh battery supporting charging at speeds up to 10W via a USB Type C port.
The Redmi A3 was launched in India with price options; the model, with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage was priced at ₹7,299 the version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage was priced at ₹8,299 and the top tier model, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage was priced at ₹9,299.
