PlayStation State of Play February 2025: Possible Reveals and Expectations for Sony’s Valentine Week Event

So, what could Sony have in store for this one? Let’s take a look at the first-party games announced for 2025. Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei is presumably due in 2025, and we might get a new look at gameplay and a release window. Bungie’s PvP extraction shooter marathon may make an appearance if playtesting is planned for this year.

We might also get a closer look at Fair games, the first game from Haven Studios, or possibly some updates on Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine. A new trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, scheduled for 2025, is also a likely possibility.

However, it’s unlikely we’ll see Sony’s recently canceled live-service games. This includes two unannounced games from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, which has been rumored to be working on a live-service God of War title. That said, Guerrilla Games’ live-service Horizon project may still be on the table for a reveal. For third parties, Kojima’s Physint, a stealth-action PS5 exclusive, might simply be a shade early to warrant a major reveal. A stronger candidate is Phantom Blade Zero, a hack-and-slash action RPG from the Chinese studio S-Game.

There’s also potential to highlight Microsoft’s presence in the PlayStation space, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to PS5 soon. And will Microsoft finally unveil Halo for PlayStation at the event? Last year’s State of Play rounded up the following announcements: Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, Until Dawn remaster, Sonic x Shadow Generations, and beyond. You can expect similar surprises this year.
