Afeela: PlayStation Car
As you have probably heard, Afeela, aka the PlayStation Car, has been announced, and now we have the latest update. The electric vehicle that was designed by Sony in collaboration with car manufacturer Honda was initially revealed at CES last year.
Now, once again, Sony has brought the vehicle to the event, and this time we have more information on it. As you can guess, you can play PlayStation 5 games in the game.
Although Sony has confirmed this before, once again it has repeated that the electric vehicle is just not another PS5 gaming console. Instead, the vehicle is just a PS remote play device. So, while you are on the go or stuck in a jam, you can enjoy your favourite PS5 games.
Inside the PlayStation Car, aka Afeela, you will get a yoke-shaped steering wheel, making it easy to see the massive display. As you can guess, this huge display is capable of doing more than just remotely playing video games.
You can use the steering wheel to play music, navigate throughout the way, and do other typical things expected from a smart car. Another interesting feature of the PlayStation Car is that, near the front of the car, you will get a little display.
Sony termed it a “Media Bar,” which simply means that this bar is for displaying media images. You can also use this media bar to display logos for a video game. It can also be used by rideshare drivers to find their passengers.
Well, there are a lot of features to expect from a smart car. But then again, that is expected from a smart car that is being designed by Sony, a tech giant.
Up until now, Sony has only revealed the PlayStation Car in two CESs, the first time in 2023 and now in 2024. However, until now, we don’t know when we can try our hands on this electric vehicle. And that’s where the real test begins.
