The PlayStation 5 Pro is officially still a few weeks away, with an in-store drop of November 7, but some users have already come into possession of Sony’s second-gen console. Earlier this week, Brazilian content creator Brunno Fast posted a total unboxing, detailing the inner settings of the PS5 Pro, along with the official specs sheet in the box. It follows the surface of the first unboxing video which was removed rather quickly.

Perhaps the more surprising thing to be found in the new specs is the inclusion of 2 GB of DDR5 RAM from Sony. That new memory will presumably be allocated to the console’s OS, leaving the full 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM for developers to play with for their games. Everything else is similar to what had been reported earlier, including a custom AMD Ryzen “Zen 2” CPU with 8 cores, 16.7 TFLOPS capable GPU, and a new 2 TB capacity SSD for storage.

In terms of connectivity, PS5 Pro consists of two USB Type-A ports (SuperSpeed 10 Gbps), a USB Type-C (Hi-Speed) port, a USB Type-C port (SuperSpeed), and an M.2 SSD expansion slot. There is also an internal Ethernet adapter with support for the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth versions, as well as HDMI AV-out. Maximum power intake is specified at 100–240 V (390 W).

Compared to the base model, the PS5 Pro boasts 67% more computing power, which Sony says leads to an approximate 45% faster rendering speed. Additionally, the console is set to leverage PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, a custom AI-powered upscaling technology developed by Sony. This feature has drawn praise from developers, including the team behind The First Descendant, who claim it rivals NVIDIA’s DLSS in quality. The PS5 Pro is launching worldwide next Thursday at a price of $699/£699/€799, bringing enhanced performance and upscaling technology to PlayStation fans globally.
