PlayStation 5 Pro console reported to launch in November 2024

According to a recent leak, Sony could introduce a Pro version of the PlayStation 5 console in November 2024. With the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, Sony and Microsoft respectively released mid-gen upgrades for both of their respective consoles during the previous generation. While an Xbox Series X console update doesn’t appear to be in the works, at least not right now, it appears Sony is developing a PlayStation 5 upgrade.

The idea that Sony will introduce a new PlayStation 5 console has long been a subject of rumours. The existence of a PS5 Slim console has long been rumoured, but as of the time of this writing, no official announcement has been made. Holdouts may prefer to wait for Sony to release the PlayStation 5 Pro console rather than the PS5 Slim, which may or may not exist.

The Trinity PlayStation 5 Pro console is actively being demoed for developers, according to a report from Key to Gaming, and development kits will be sent “by late November 2023.”

The PS5 Pro console will reportedly contain 30 WGP and 18000 mts of memory, as well as “consistent FPS at 4K resolution” and the capacity to display in 8K resolution, according to the report. According to their sources, the current release date for the new PlayStation 5 system is November 2024.

It’s important for fans to treat this information with a huge grain of salt, just like they should with all rumours and leaks. While it’s entirely feasible that Sony has the enhanced PS5 console scheduled for sale in November 2024, it’s also conceivable that the company will change its mind and opt not to. In light of the fact that Sony has updated their systems with each successive generation, it would be more unexpected if a new PS5 didn’t debut at some time.

Consumers can choose between two PS5 models at the moment. One is the basic PS5 that costs $499.99 and comes with a disc drive, and the other is the identically equipped $399.99 variant.
