Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsofts’s Xbox Series X, are the two most anticipated next-gen consoles. With console wars being waged in all its fury, the next-gen consoles have gone online for pre-orders and it seems that there is an extremely tough competition between the two next-gen consoles.
The popularity of these consoles in the pre-order season largely depends on the software and hardware that they offer and most importantly the game package that they provide.
Reportedly, VGM conducted a pre-order survey report offering some juicy details about what is influencing the pre-order sales on the next-gen consoles. The survey took into consideration the pole rating of 511 people based in the US.
Out of these 511, 72% of the people involved voted for the disc edition of PlayStation 5 to be their number one choice. But according to sources, only 15% of the 72% made the pre-order of their survey choice.
However, Microsofts Xbox Series X was selected by 30% of people involved in the survey, the PS5 Digital Edition scored 10% while the box Series S dropped to 8%.
Sources claim that the main reason why PS5 has seen an increase in pre-orders exclusively depends on the latest exclusive titles offered by Sony. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (52%), God of War: Ragnarok (42%), and Final Fantasy XVI (32%) are the primary choices of PS5 buyers.
For Xbox, the games attracting buyers include Halo Infinite (45%), Fable (26%), and Forza Motorsport 8 (24%) seems to be the driving force. However, sources claim that buyers are more interested in subscription services like Game Pass when it comes to buying Xbox Series X and Series S.
The survey clearly pints that the most desired package overall in this instance is the Blu-ray PS5 console. But as of now, both Microsoft and Sony are dealing with pre-order related issues which are reportedly taking time to get resolved.
