If you’ve been waiting for Pixar to truly surprise you again, *Hoppers* might just be the film you didn’t know you needed. Think talking animals — but make it sci-fi. Here’s everything you need to know!

## What Is *Hoppers* About?

*Hoppers* follows Mabel, a 19-year-old animal lover whose mind is transferred into a lifelike robotic beaver using a technology called the “Hoppers” program — enabling human consciousness to communicate directly with animals. [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoppers_(film)) Her mission? Save a wildlife habitat from a power-hungry mayor. It’s sweet, funny, and surprisingly emotional.

The concept of [consciousness transfer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_uploading), while fictional here, draws from real philosophical and scientific debates — giving the film unexpected depth for a family animated feature.
