There are films that deserve far more than what the box office gives them — and **Phule** is heartbreakingly one of them. Based on the extraordinary lives of social reformers Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, this biographical drama had heart, purpose, and a powerhouse lead in Pratik Gandhi. Yet the **Phule movie collection** tells a deeply disappointing story of a film undone by invisibility, not quality.

## Phule Movie Collection: Full Day-by-Day Breakdown

The film directed by Anant Mahadevan and released on **April 25, 2025** posted these numbers across its two-week theatrical run:

| Day | India Net Collection |
| --- | --- |
| Day 1 (Opening Day) | Rs 10 lakh |
| Day 2 | Rs 25 lakh |
| Day 3 | Rs 35 lakh |
| Days 4–7 | Rs 50 lakh |
| **Week 1 Total** | **Rs 1.20 crore** |
| Days 8–14 (Week 2) | Rs 25 lakh |
| **Final India Nett Total** | **~Rs 1.50 crore** |

These are genuinely painful numbers for a film of this ambition. An opening day of just Rs 10 lakh signals one thing above all else: almost no one knew it was releasing.

## What Went Wrong with Phule?

The **Phule movie collection** suffered from three compounding problems. First, the film faced pre-release censorship hurdles that disrupted its promotional momentum. Second, there was a severe lack of marketing — urban multiplexes barely knew about it, let alone mass audiences across India. Third, Ajay Devgn’s **Raid 2** released in the film’s second weekend and crushed what little breathing room remained, causing collections to drop by nearly 80% in week two.

What makes it all more frustrating is that the film apparently held a **good trend** on weekdays — people who discovered it, liked it. That’s the most telling sign of a film that failed in reach, not storytelling. The great legacy of [Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jyotirao_Phule) — pioneers of education and social reform in 19th-century India — deserved a wider audience.
