Philippe Coutinho will be available as a free agent this summer, after leaving Aston Villa. The Brazilian spent this past season on loan with Qatari side Al Duhail, and is now in talks to terminate his contract with Villa.
Brasileirão club Vasco da Gama are working to bring the attacking midfielder back home, with negotiations to progress further in the coming days. The 32-year-old has a contract with Villa until 2026, which means the termination could also take some time to finalise.

The former Liverpool man was able to briefly recapture his form after returning to the Premier League in winter 2022. This eventually promoted Villa to sign him permanently from Barcelona for €20 million. But, only a year later, he was loaned out to Al Duhail.
This past season, Philippe Coutinho played 22 games across all competitions for Al Duhail, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 1,600 minutes on the pitch.
However, injuries ruled him out for several games throughout the year as well, limiting his impact and game time.
Now, it seems that Coutinho is all set to end his career in Europe and return to his boyhood club, Vasco da Gama, for one final spell as part of their senior squad.
