Philippe Coutinho resides at Bayern and also completes his year-long loan span at Bayern Munich as June 2020 ends but due to the current situation, the Brazilian international decides to stay at Bayern until their Champions League campaign ends.
Obviously, the Barcelona loanee’s future was at stake on termination of his loan period, but according to Sport, both clubs have been forced to renegotiate and extend the loan spell by two months. This means Bayern Munich will now have him available for this weekend’s German cup final as well as the Champions League in August.
As per German outlet Bild, Bayern has decided to extend the loan of all three loan players at the club i.e. Coutinho, Perisic and Odriozola. Coutinho and Odriozola will ultimately leave when the season ends, but Perisic could actually stay.
All of the three players have accepted a 50% wage cut during the additional two months they will spend with Bayern. Bayern Munich already has won their 8th consecutive Bundesliga title and they both the German cup final against Bayer Leverkusen and the Champions League tie against Chelsea.
This extension will prove vital for Coutinho to perform in the last few matches, if he is included in the team, and if he does so, Barcelona will still get some money by selling him to any club, possibly back to the Premier League.
