Pep Guardiola is one of the best coaches of his generation. His tactical sense and game planning is second to none. He has won everything with Barcelona and then went to Bayern Munich. He conquered Germany, though failed to take them to the European summit.

Guardiola is now at Manchester City and has pledged another two years at City. He has already won 3 Premier League titles and is on the verge of conquering Europe once again as City will face Chelsea in the Champions League final on 29th May.

Pep Guardiola just confirmed on press conference: “I’m staying at Manchester City, I’m sure – whatever happens tomorrow. Winning or losing the final won’t change my future”. 🔵 #MCFC https://t.co/1xb5pJX8uI

Guardiola said during Friday’s pre-match press conference, via Marca: “[Manchester City] give to the manager everything that he needs,”

“Of course investment [helps], I can’t deny that, but it’s not just that. I have friends in the hierarchy above me and the players see me as the manager because I have support from those above me.”

“I feel comfortable with my staff, I have everything. I cannot ask more to do my job as best as I can do. It’s as simple as that.”

“We are in the same line, we make decisions together, share mistakes together and good moments.”

“When we lose they don’t tell me I’m responsible, we try and find a solution together.”

“That’s why I extended my contract by two more years, for that reason. I feel incredibly comfortable working with every department of the club, not just the players.”

“After the results they will decide if I stay longer or if we say that’s enough, but we will stay friends and shake hands.”

Guardiola added about the Champions League final: “Some players go out there with tension, some struggle, but they have to handle this,”

“I’m pretty sure we have to suffer to win the final. It’s nice to say enjoy it but sometimes it’s not possible. You have to be resilient and adjust.”

“I know exactly the way we want to play, with whom we are going to play and I am not going to bother them much.”

“It is an incredible privilege to be here. I never expected at the start of my career to play one final of the Champions League. Now we are here. We are lucky.”

“I know exactly what I am going to tell them. I don’t want to bother them too much.”

“The guys who are anxious or nervous I am going to tell them it is normal and the guys who are more relaxed it is normal as well.”

“Everyone will handle it their own way.”

Guardiola added when asked what it is like to leave players out: “Terrible,”

“It is an absolute disaster. I don’t have any nice words to feel relief about the guys who won’t play.”

“My advice is stick with the team because there are five or six substitutions and everyone will play a part.”
