Pep Guardiola has hinted at a possible exit from Manchester City in 2025, when his contract expires. The Catalonian recently led his side to their fourth straight Premier League title, becoming the first side in history to achieve the feat.

This Saturday, Guardiola will have the chance to lead City to another historical feat if they win the FA Cup against rivals Manchester United. If they win, they will become the first team in history to record a consecutive domestic double, comprising of the league and the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola hints at Manchester City exit after nine years in charge

“The reality is I’m closer to leaving than to staying,” the City manager told Sky Sports.

“It’s eight years, will be nine. Right now my feeling is I want to stay next season. We talked with the club, we have time to talk next season because I have to see the players as well, if they follow me, they follow us.

“I had that feeling last season [after we won the treble],” he said in his press conference.

“We were in Istanbul and I said, ‘It’s over. What am I doing here? There is nothing left.’ But I have a contract. I am here and I am still enjoying some of the moments, sometimes tired but some of them I love.

“And after a few days, we start playing good, winning games, different players, and we start to think about how no one has done four in a row. Why not try it?”

The 53-year-old has won every available trophy with City, including six Premier League titles out of seven. And last year, he completed the haul with the Champions League trophy. While he hasn’t eliminated the possibility of an exit, there is a chance the coming year could be his last in Sky Blue.
