Ram Charan is an undisputed star in Telugu cinema, but Bollywood audiences continue to be a tough crowd for dubbed South blockbusters. His latest release **Peddi**, directed by Buchi Babu Sana and co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, has opened to a rather lukewarm response in the Hindi belt. Let’s break down the numbers and what they really mean.\

## Peddi Hindi Box Office — Day-Wise Collections

The Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer collected Rs 10.75 crore nett in its dubbed Hindi version over 4 days. Here’s how the daily numbers shaped up:

| Day | Collection (Hindi) |
| --- | --- |
| Day 1 (Thu) | Rs 2.75 crore |
| Day 2 (Fri) | Rs 2.00 crore |
| Day 3 (Sat) | Rs 2.50 crore |
| Day 4 (Sun) | Rs 3.50 crore |
| **Total** | **Rs 10.75 crore** |

The movie witnessed a positive spike on Day 4 (Sunday), where it added Rs 3.50 crore, pushing the extended first weekend into double digits.

## A Tale of Two Markets

Here’s the thing — Peddi is not *struggling* as a film. It’s struggling *in Hindi*. The film is performing best in its home turf, grossing over Rs 142 crore in its 4-day extended opening weekend, and recording a pretty good weekend in Karnataka as well, making nearly Rs 20 crore.

That makes the Hindi numbers a low weekend debut for such a big-budget tentpole Telugu movie, especially one starring RRR fame Ram Charan. For context on how the [box office works for dubbed films](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Box_office), Hindi-dubbed versions of South films often struggle unless backed by mass word-of-mouth or cultural crossover — something RRR achieved, but Peddi hasn’t replicated yet.

## What Lies Ahead for Peddi?

Peddi needs to pick up momentum and show strong weekday trends to reach a respectable total in Hindi. Otherwise, the movie has already sealed its box office fate in North India.

The Sunday bump is a minor silver lining — it signals some audience curiosity. But without strong word-of-mouth driving people to cinemas on weekdays, it’ll be an uphill battle.
