Paxten Aaronson, the younger brother of Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson, is expected to join Eintracht Frankfurt in the coming days. The 19-year-old currently plays for Philadelphia Union in the MLS, and is in advanced stages of his transfer to the Bundesliga.
Union were defeated by LAFC in the MLS Cup final, marking the end of the season. And now, the youngster will be moving on to a bigger challenge in Europe, following his elder brother.
Paxten Aaronson on the verge of Eintracht Frankfurt transfer
The transfer will be worth $4 million plus add-ons, and the attacking midfielder will be signed on a five-year contract. He will not be loaned back to the club and is expected to develop with the first team, joining the likes of Giovanni Reyna who is already shining in Germany.
The deal has been agreed upon verbally by the two parties, and only the paperwork needs to be signed. Medical tests to finalise the transfer will be held next week.
This season, Paxten Aaronson made 35 appearances across all competitions, playing 1281 minutes. He has scored five goals and provided four assists in the MLS Next Pro League, which is for the youngsters, in ten appearances.
