The transfer will be worth $4 million plus add-ons, and the attacking midfielder will be signed on a five-year contract. He will not be loaned back to the club and is expected to develop with the first team, joining the likes of Giovanni Reyna who is already shining in Germany.

The deal has been agreed upon verbally by the two parties, and only the paperwork needs to be signed. Medical tests to finalise the transfer will be held next week.

This season, Paxten Aaronson made 35 appearances across all competitions, playing 1281 minutes. He has scored five goals and provided four assists in the MLS Next Pro League, which is for the youngsters, in ten appearances.
