Another chapter begins in Manchester United and Paul Pogba’s contract situation. After reports that the Premier League club were resigned to losing him for free, they are now going in the opposite direction.

United want to reach an agreement with Paul Pogba to avoid losing him for free in the summer. They are willing to go to great lengths to ensure that the midfielder commits to a future with the Red Devils.

Paul Pogba is one of the highest earners in England right now, with a salary close to €400,000 per week. The new contract that Manchester United are offering would see him pocket wages close to €500,000 per week, which would make him the highest earner in the history of the English top flight.

The France international has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus as a potential target. But, Madrid are not looking to sign the midfielder, instead looking to strengthen other areas of their squad.

While the other European clubs could go in for him, they won’t be able to offer him the same salary. Pogba himself is undecided whether he will take the new offer from the club.

If he wants to leave, United would try to sell him in the January transfer window to salvage some funds. They are looking at West Ham United’s Declan Rice and Wolves’ Ruben Neves as replacements for Pogba if he leaves the club.
