Manchester United could lose Paul Pogba for free for the second time in the span of a decade in 2022.

The French midfielder only has one year remaining on his contract with Manchester United, and is reportedly not looking to extend it any further. As a result, he will be able to depart for free next June, with Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus being linked as the early favourites to land his signature next year.

After spending four years at Juventus from 2012 to 2016, he was signed by Manchester United for €105 million. Since his arrival back at Old Trafford, his performances have been hit and miss. While he has shown his world-class talent on several occasions, others have left fans rather infuriated.

Mino Raiola, his agent, had stated that the player would not continue further with Manchester United before their final game in the group stages of the Champions League. However, Pogba has been extremely professional with his handling of the situation and has continued to deliver for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

PSG were looking to sign Pogba this summer, with several reports rising early in the transfer window that the Parisians had made his recruitment a priority. However, the arrival of Lionel Messi at the Parc de Princes has made it rather impossible for the Ligue 1 club to go after and add another world-class player’s wages to their books.

Next summer, though, we could see the midfielder leave Old Trafford for good amidst all the rumours surrounding his future.
