Malayalam cinema fans, this one’s for you. The much-awaited Mammootty–Mohanlal collaboration **Patriot** has officially landed with a bang at the Kerala box office. With two of the biggest legends of Indian cinema sharing the screen in a [spy thriller](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spy_film), expectations were sky-high — and the numbers are starting to reflect that.

### Patriot Kerala Box Office — Opening Weekend at a Glance

| Day | Kerala Gross Collection |
| --- | --- |
| Day 1 (Friday) | ₹8.50 Crore |
| Day 2 (Saturday) | ₹5.25 Crore |
| Day 3 (Sunday) | ₹5.00 Crore (est.) |
| **Total (3 Days)** | **₹18.75 Crore** |

### A Strong Start, But Room to Grow

Let’s be honest — when Mammootty and Mohanlal come together, you expect fireworks on Day 3. There was only a marginal 5% dip from Saturday to Sunday, which shows the film is holding its ground, but a significant jump didn’t happen. Directed by **Mahesh Narayanan**, the film met with a **positive to mixed** audience reception, which likely kept the Sunday numbers from exploding.

That said, this is already the **biggest opening weekend ever for a Mammootty film** in Kerala — so let’s give credit where it’s due. That’s a record worth celebrating!

### What’s Next for Patriot?

The film is on course to **cross ₹20 crore by its first Monday**, and if word-of-mouth improves in the coming days, analysts estimate a first-week total in the ₹25–28 crore range. The bigger challenge? Chasing the ₹100 crore club in its home turf and competing with blockbusters like **Thudarum** and **Vaazha 2** in lifetime collections.

It won’t be easy, but with this cast and premise, nothing is impossible.
