Bayern Munich starlet Joshua Zirkzee is on his way out of the club and is to spend the rest of the season on loan with Serie A club Parma. The news was first announced by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast, hosted by Francesco Porzio, and was confirmed by him on his Twitter account.
The Italian duo also mentioned how the two clubs promised two very different projects to the young striker. While Everton is a big club and will manage to provide him more exposure to the more pressurising side of the game, Parma offer him the exact opposite.
The Serie A club guaranteed Zirkzee that he would be an undisputed starter at the club. This ensures that the player gets minutes under his belt, which, at 19, is the most valuable acquisition for any young player.
Both the clubs were absolutely firing to get the player’s signature. With Parma, the Dutchman can get started immediately and show, as well as polish his skills in the process. Moreover, he will be away from the pressures of delivering and can focus on his game at a relatively mid-table club.
Everton, on the other hand, would have cause the player to be on the bench for the majority of the time because of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s stellar form this season that has seen him become absolutely indispensable to Carlo Ancelotti.
The deal is an absolutely perfect one for Parma, and they also have an option to buy the player for a fee worth €15 million at the end of the loan spell. A sell-on clause in the striker’s contract also promises the Bavarians 7.5% of any future fee received by Parma should they sell him in the future.
All personal terms have been agreed and the transfer will be officially announced soon.
