Paris Saint-Germain are currently frustrated with the way Sergio Ramos’ time had played out in the French capital. The former Real Madrid captain is yet to make his debut for his new club. Ramos joined as a free agent in the summer and signed a two-year deal.

He currently earns £300,000 and has approximately earned £4 million without playing a single game. The player has been battling an injury since joining PSG. The club recently published a statement saying that he was close to making a return to full fitness.

‘The evolution of Sergio Ramos’ recovery program, co-ordinated by the medical staff, is progressing very well.

‘Continuous resumption with the group may be considered in the course of next week.’

Ramos’ last appearance on the pitch came in Real Madrid’s Champions League defeat against Chelsea in May. The former Spain international has been struggling with injuries ever since.

The Paris Saint-Germain chiefs have considered tearing up the player’s contract. According to French publication Le Parisien, the board is willing to let the defender walk away if he is still struggling with fitness. They feel that they have made a mistake by signing the player in the summer.

However, they will have to reach a mutual agreement with the 35-year-old if they want to terminate his contract. But, PSG have a very hectic schedule coming up and they need a good squad depth if they hope to challenge for most titles. So, they might end up keeping Ramos for the sake of the squad.
