“I am really excited to start a new journey in India with Punjab FC. It is a great challenge and I look forward to helping the team in achieving its objectives. I am completely aligned with the Club’s vision and can’t wait to start the new season in the new country,” Dilmperis told the club’s official website upon being announced as the club’s new head coach.
Staikos Vergetis did a remarkable job with the former I-League winners in their first season in the ISL, achieving a ninth placed finish. However, the 47-year-old has now moved on, and his replacement has been swiftly announced too.
With Jordan Wilmar and Madih Talal transferred away, Punjab FC will have to make some very well thought out decisions in the transfer window if they are to remain competitive this season.
