AMD’s revolutionary new upscaling technique that dramatically increases frame rates without affecting GPU or CPU was dubbed to be cross-platform.

Launched on Windows a few days ago, we knew it would be coming to Xbox anytime soon, and so, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution has officially been announced for Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One consoles now.

Jason Ronald, a director of program management at Xbox, made the announcement that AMD FSR would be part of the Xbox GDK which will help enable the technology on Windows and all the Xbox consoles, including Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, and Xbox One.

So, even if you are on an old Xbox, you will eventually enjoy some boost in frame rates thanks to the new FidelityFX Super Resolution. Implementing the tech on games is very simple as FSR is implemented into their games’ graphics pipeline, requiring just a couple of hours.

New game developers will be able to adjust image quality to preserve the high framerate; however, Microsoft has not yet given an exact time frame when it would bring the feature on Xbox, but you can expect it to arrive in few weeks.

One of Apple’s biggest advantages is a unified system architecture with its own OS across all Apple devices. This lets you run iOS apps on your macOS, and this made Apple’s whole UI experience or, say, the Apple ecosystem even better than Windows.

Now, with the new Microsoft Windows 11, the Redmond giant is targetting Android fans who supposedly love using Windows. So, with Windows 11, starting later this year, people will be able to discover Android apps in the Microsoft Store and download them through the Amazon Appstore.

This will indeed be revolutionary as you won’t have to rely on the YourPhone app to sync your Android apps to Windows. So, you can record and post a video from TikTok or using Khan Academy Kids for virtual learning right from your PC.

However, instead of partnering with Google, the maker of Android, there is a catch that makes sense as Google is doubling down on its own Chrome and Fuchsia OS. Instead, Microsoft will use its partnership with Amazon and Intel, using Intel Bridge technology, bringing Android apps to Windows 11.

At the beginning of 2021, we expect a consistent supply to ensure that enough supply is produced to satisfy the demand during the summer high, but it’s June now. Still, companies struggle to get their hands on a sufficient supply of chips which makes them unable to manufacture at full stretch to meet the supply demands.

Also with the upcoming big tech features set to release in the coming months along with the shopping season, it seems this is just the beginning of their troubles.

Jahmy Hindman, chief technology officer at John Deere, stated on The Verge’s Decoder podcast “We had thought probably six or seven months ago, like everybody else, that it would be relatively short-term, but I think we’re into this for the next 12 to 18 months.”

Other than automobile manufacturing companies, tech companies such as Intel are also facing the same, and Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger also stated regarding the matter, saying, “This will take a while until people can put more capacity in the ground.”

Sony faces the same problem regarding their latest release of PS5, which is also America’s highest-selling gaming console; Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki also stated, “Even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand.”

While chip manufacturing semiconductor industries such as Intel, TSMC and Samsung are heavily investing in expanding and improving their manufacturing processes, the problem still lies that it’ll take at least a year before any of that investment begin to bear fruits.

The Redmond giant’s new Windows 11 will be a free upgrade for Windows 10 users, so you can expect a completely new look to the Store you have generally seen until now. So, the upgrade exhibits a new, lighter, as well as a potentially more navigable UI, looking far modern and intuitive.

John McAfee commits suicide in Barcelona prison: Reports

According to reports from Reuters, El Mundo, El País, McAfee founder, John McAfee, was found dead in a Barcelona prison. The Spanish Department of Justice has stated that his death was most probably caused due to suicide.

Even McAfee’s lawyers have confirmed his death to The New York Times. One of his lawyers has even gone as far as to state that his demise was “the result of a cruel system that had no reason to keep this man in jail for so long.”

McAfee, who was being held in a Spanish prison since October 2020, was pending extradition to the US. He was facing several charges of tax evasion, and securities fraud related to his alleged cryptocurrency scheme. His extradition was approved by the Spanish courts this morning, with an opportunity for appeal.

Recently, McAfee claimed that he was on the run from the CIA. He also tweeted a picture of himself on a boat holding a gun. He had tweeted multiple times that he would never kill himself. These tweets have now led to conspiracy theories about his death. The US Department of Justice, however, refused to make any comment on the matter.

Amazon Studios has dropped the trailer of a strange film named Annette. The story of this film revolves around the daughter of Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, who is raising the daughter who has a mysterious destiny.

It seems that the French filmmaker Leos Carax has come back with his feature movie from the critically acclaimed 2012 film Holy Motors for this latest musical. The original story and the film’s music was written by Sparks Brothers, who is Ron Mael, and Russell Mael for this movie. It had been chosen as the Opening Night selection at the 2021 Cannas Film festival on 6th July.
