The new players of FC Barcelona including new signings and returning loan players who were supposed to join the pre-season training have undergone PCR tests and one of them turns out to be COVID-19 positive. The club hasn’t revealed the exact name but it should among these nine players: Pedri, Trincão, Matheus Fernandes, Todibo, Wagué, Aleñá, Rafinha, Miranda, and Oriol Busquets.
These players had undergone medical tests on Tuesday afternoon and today the club has reported that one of these players turns out to have the Coronavirus. However, the club has assured that: “The player has no symptoms, is in good health and has been quarantined at his home”
The club has reported the matter to the relevant sporting and health authorities. All persons who have been in contact with the player have been tracked to perform the corresponding PCR tests.
The player has not been in contact with any of the senior team players who are scheduled to travel to Lisbon this Thursday to compete in the Champions League.
So, the senior team will not be affected, who will be traveling to Lisbon to face Napoli on Friday. However, the club has not yet reported whether the pre-season training of the other trainees, that was scheduled to start on Thursday 13th at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, will be continuing or not, hopefully, it will as each player have been tested individually.
