Oscar Mingueza is in talks with Valencia for a loan move until the end of the season. The talks between Barcelona and Valencia have begun, and are progressing for a temporary transfer.

According to reports, Barcelona want their fellow La Liga side to cover a part of his salary if he completes the transfer. The player appreciates the offer and would be open to a move for more game time.

## Oscar Mingueza could be a Valencia player in the upcoming days

After [Newcastle United](https://technosports.co.in/2022/01/03/newcastle-united-getting-closer-to-sign-kieran-trippier-from-atletico-madrid/) signed Kieran Trippier from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, the Rojiblancos have turned to Valencia’s Daniel Wass as a replacement. Talks for his transfer have taken place, and they are waiting for the green light to complete the move.

As a cover for Wass, Valencia are trying to sign [Oscar Mingueza](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/fc-barcelona-transfer-rumors-news/2022/1/19/22891213/valencia-target-loan-move-for-barcelonas-oscar-mingueza-report). The La Masia academy graduate can operate as a centre-back or a full-back. So, he will be able to work as a replacement for Los Che at least until the end of the season.

There is also the aspect of injuries to first-team defenders that Barcelona have to consider before they sanction the deal for the 22-year-old.

Opportunities for him have been limited this season, and he has made only eight appearances across all competitions. Only three of those have been part of the starting line-up since Xavi replaced Ronald Koeman. A move away from Camp Nou will surely help him earn more playing time, and his versatility will make him a valuable member of the Valencia squad, even temporarily.
