Oppo is now working on a new tablet, the Pad 3, and most of its specifications have been revealed by Digital Chat Station which is quite the informant over on Weibo. With the Oppo Pad 2 having been announced officially in March of last year, we wonder what successor will bring this time around.
More About the Oppo Pad 3
The Oppo Pad 3 is likely to be aimed at China as the primary target market but there’s also hearsay that it could launch internationally under the OnePlus branding, much like how the previous Gen was re-badged as the OnePlus Pad, inheriting its original title of Oppo Pad 2.
The Oppo Pad 3 will include a 12.1-inch LCD touchscreen that offers a resolution of 3000×2120, with a peak brightness of up to 900 nits and an aspect ratio of seven:5, according to previous reports. Key upgrades include a 13 MP main camera, an 8MP selfie shooter, and quite a big 9,510 mAh cell with support for up to 67W fast wired charging.
The tablet will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC on the inside and equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and 512 of storage. The most likely launched series include an all-metal smartphone with imagined ‘smear-free unlocking’, a reference to fingerprint-swipe recognition, or advanced face app software.
The device will also come with support for a compatible stylus, the Oppo Pencil 2. However, whether the stylus is bundled or purchased on its own remains unclear at this stage. The stylus will also come with a linear vibration motor that is used in Apple’s most recent Pencil Pro.
The Oppo Pad 3 sees several improvements over its predecessor with a slightly larger screen, a higher resolution being employed coupled with much greater peak brightness, and a more powerful chipset. These changes suggest that Oppo’s upcoming tablets could be rid of several common issues plaguing current devices.
With the OnePlus Pad 2, maybe seeing a global rollout; this only makes speculation about the Oppo Pad 3 increase. Should this happen, it would signal an international expansion of Oppo that sees the company entering into the global tablet space, providing consumers around the world a chance to treat themselves to its newest innovation.
