Oppo is known for generating buzz before launching a new device, and its latest teaser takes a direct jab at the iPhone 16 Pro Max, specifically targeting its bezels. The teaser also reveals the name of Oppo’s upcoming flagship — the Oppo Find X8s. The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s bezels are already thinner than those of its predecessor, but Oppo seems intent on trumping Apple in this regard.

Oppo Find X8s Teased with Ultra-Thin Bezels, Takes Aim at iPhone 16 Pro Max

The teaser was shared on Weibo by the Oppo Find series Product Manager, making it an official statement. It showcases the Find X8s’ symmetrical bezels, with Oppo’s Zhou Yibao hinting at a width of “1.xx mm” without giving a number. Previous leaks indicated the bezels could measure as little as 1.38mm thick, but Oppo has not yet confirmed those specs. The post also reiterates that the Find X8s will actually be somewhat compact, with a 6.31-inch display, by today’s standards.

The teaser image also shows the device next to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which appears noticeably wider and likely taller as well. Nonetheless, it’s unclear if we will see the Oppo Find X8s debut in markets outside of China. Oppo releases globally can be a bit hit or miss, and while the Find X8s is a strong contender for a worldwide release, the speculative Find X8 Ultra could remain within China, despite its flagship pedigree. In terms of specs, the Find X8s is tipped to come with a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate along with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

We’re not sure about the chipset — it could be the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite (the same chip as the Galaxy S25 Ultra). Powering the device could be a large 5,700mAh battery, supported by 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone is also rumored to feature a triple-camera setup and a new customizable button replacing the traditional alert slider. While thinner bezels are no longer a major selling point, brands like Samsung have also been reducing them. However, Oppo’s bold marketing suggests it wants to make bezel size a competitive feature once again.
