More About OPPO Find X Series and Reno 12 Series

The most recent global OPPO Find phone was the OPPO Find X5, which was accompanied by the Find X5 Pro. It also will have the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra, which were made available with dual periscope cameras only for China earlier this year. But OPPO might roll these models out internationally as well, including a special Find X7 Ultra Satellite color.

The OPPO Reno 12 series on the other hand will go global later this month according to a teaser slide displayed during the conference. The hardware specs could be the same as the lineup of Reno 12, which recently launched in China.

As part of OPPO’s Generative AI initiative, the company plans to bring AI features to all of its smartphone segments by 2024. By working with OPPO the industry leaders such as Microsoft, Google, and MediaTek, OPPO will provide better experiences to the users with its image processing and smart charging as well as its natural language processing. With over 5,399 AI patents globally, including 3,796 in image processing, OPPO established an AI Centre in Shenzhen in February 2024 to facilitate the development of AI features.

OPPO’s flagship phones will incorporate Google Gemini LLMs, featuring an AI Toolbox with AI Writer and AI Recording Summary functionalities. Partnering with MediaTek will enable the integration of chipsets equipped with dedicated AI processing units (NPUs) and accelerators. IDC predicts significant growth in flagships offering dedicated AI features in the sub $1,000 segment, estimating a shipment of around 35 million units in 2024, representing a growth of over 250 percent.
