The project unveiling took place at Nausena Bhavan, New Delhi, on 24th April 2024 where the creators were captured posing with the signed documents. “Excel Entertainment, in collaboration with Sunshine Digimedia, presents ‘Operation Trident’. Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, in collaboration with Sunshine Digimedia, unveiled ‘Operation Trident’ at Nausena Bhavan, New Delhi. The creators have yet to disclose further details of the film, including the cast or the release date. It appears that nothing has been finalized as of now. However, it remains intriguing to anticipate who will portray the roles in this prestigious project.
Operation Trident Is Based On Real Incidents
On December 3, 1971, Pakistan initiated an assault on Indian air bases.
“In response to their offensive actions, the Indian Navy strategized a counterattack on the night of December 4th and 5th, recognizing Pakistan’s lack of aircraft for bombing raids. This initiative, known as Operation Trident, targeted the Pakistan Naval Headquarters in Karachi. Utilizing three missile boats—INS Veer, INS Nipat, INS Nirghat—and Vidyut-class boats, the Indian Navy launched an assault on Karachi, resulting in the sinking of three Pakistani Navy vessels, including PNS Khaibar.”
“The attack resulted in the loss of hundreds of Pakistani Navy personnel. Commodore Kasargod Pattana Shetty Gopal Rao spearheaded the operation on behalf of the Indian Navy. In commemoration of this successful mission, Indian Navy Day is observed nationwide,” stated the Ministry of Tourism website.
Farhan Akhtar’s Upcoming Works
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for multiple projects. Alongside his involvement in the much-anticipated Don 3, which is set to feature Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in leading roles, there has been a slight delay in its shooting schedule. Initially slated to commence in August 2024, recent reports indicate a shift to December of the same year.
Furthermore, Farhan Akhtar is set to focus on his acting endeavors with an action-packed venture directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai, known for his work on Dhaakad.
