OneXPlayer 2 Handheld gaming Console set to make its debut on November 25th 2022

OneXPlayer, One-gaming Netbook’s division, has introduced the OneXPlayer 2, the latest handheld gaming console with Intel and AMD CPUs. The ability to undock the controls on each side of the device, akin to the Nintendo Switch series, is a key addition to the system.

OneXPlayer has previously created handhelds using AMD Ryzen 5800U and Intel Core processors in a variety of flavours and two distinct aesthetic styles. The company recently released the video below, which teases the newest handheld design for next year.

The new series will debut on November 25, 2022, in time for the holidays, and will ship in the first quarter of 2023. The firm has provided Technosports with an unique specs sheet for the newest handheld, which we will go over in further depth below.

One of the issues with the OneXPlayer Mini (AMD 5800U version) that we tested was its weight. Similar comments were expressed by a number of review outlets, and it seems that OneXPlayer took note of this and made some changes to “lighten the burden” for portable gamers. The biggest alteration is the addition of detachable controllers to each side of the screen, which allows users to “potentially” raise the screen up or rest flat while lowering the burden on the gamer. Both the magnetic keyboard and the orange and black colour scheme seen in the video, which has long been a trademark of OneXPlayer, are not brand-new to the system.

The business has indicated the use of the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU and the Intel Raptor Lake mobile series in the accompanying video. The Intel CPU, which will presumably be the mobile i7 variant as the previous Alder Lake mobile processors did not offer more cores, is still unclear outside of the generation.

The Radeon 680M GPU will be used in OneXPlayer 2, which keeps with the RDNA 2 architecture used in the AMD OneXPlayer Mini designs from before.

The 8.4-inch 2.5K HD screen in OneXPlayer 2 is the “sweet spot” for the company when designing its handhelds. The 16GB LPDDR5 memory has been replaced with LPDDR5X in the new successor system. On the specs sheet, it also has two listings for RAM. The system will most likely experience an increase of close to 33% from the LPDDR5 memory utilised in previous generations if the corporation does confirm the use of LPDDR5X 16GB 6400 MHz frequency RAM modules.

The OneXPlayer 2 has a higher resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a 100% sRGB colour gamut. A 350 nit brightness and 360 PPI pixel density are used. The new handheld will have a battery capacity of 65.8 Wh, which is an improvement above the 48 Wh offered by the most recent OneXPlayer Mini devices, or 17100 mAh. Since the specifications indicate that the new system will only require thirty minutes to reach 50% unless any power limits are applied, the battery charging time to 100% looks to be one hour.

Storage on the OneXPlayer Mini AMD variations will remain same, since it will continue to use PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD, and it is uncertain if they will update to Gen4 (x4) for the new system. Sound will now be delivered via twin Harman Kardon-certified speakers, a departure from previous versions of OneXPlayer systems. The system was supposed to be released on December 15, 2022, but OneXPlayer has extended the sale date to this Friday, better known as “Black Friday,” and has informed us that shipments will begin in the first quarter of 2023.
