With the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus made its tablet debut, and the OnePlus Pad Go arrived shortly after. The company now seems to be developing a replacement for its flagship device, which may go by the name OnePlus Pad 2. A fresh leak has already made some of the tablet’s hardware details public.
OnePlus Pad 2 expected to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC details
The OnePlus Pad 2, according to tipster Max Jambor, would come in the second half of 2024 and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. In contrast, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset is included in the original OnePlus Pad.
If that’s the case, the OnePlus Pad 2 will be the first tablet to run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU—that is, until some other company beats OnePlus to the release of a tablet with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
The remaining specifications details are yet unclear. The new OnePlus tablet should come with a brighter screen, a somewhat larger battery, additional storage capacity, and other features. OnePlus is probably going to replace its tablet with a flagship chip that is on the higher end. Instead of the LCD display shown in the previous generation, we might see an AMOLED screen. However, the cost of these upgrades may also increase.
