A foldable phone with twin SIM slots, the OnePlus Open runs OxygenOS 13.2 out of the box and is based on Android 13. It comes equipped with a 7.82-inch (2,268×2,440 pixels) 2K Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rate, a 240Hz touch response rate, and a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits. In addition to supporting 1,440Hz pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming, the display is protected by Ultra Thin Glass.
The Intelligent Eye Care certification from TÜV Rheinland is valid for both screens.
The foldable phone from OnePlus features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU from Qualcomm with an Adreno 740 GPU and 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone’s available memory may be increased in blocks of 4GB, 8GB, and 12GB by using unused storage space.
The 64-megapixel telephoto camera on the OnePlus Open has an OmniVision OV64B sensor, OIS, EIS, a 33.4-degree field of vision, and an f/2.6 aperture. It enables up to 120x digital zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and 3x optical zoom. A 48-megapixel ultra-wideangle camera with a Sony IMX581 sensor, an f/2.2 aperture, a 114-degree field of view, and EIS is also included in this model. It may also be used as a macro camera.
Despite the fact that the Open is a first for the OnePlus brand, the firm is marketing the product as a joint venture with its parent company Oppo, which previously sold the Oppo Find N and Find N2 foldables in China.
It implies that the OnePlus Open is essentially a third-generation foldable phone and that it will even be marketed as the Oppo Find N3 in the company’s native market. The alert slider, which OnePlus sees as one of the brand’s hallmark features, is one of the elements it wants to highlight most about the foldable.
