About a month ago we saw a leak claiming OnePlus will [partner](https://technosports.co.in/2020/12/20/oneplus-to-sign-a-partnership-with-leica-for-the-oneplus-9-series-camera/) with Leica for its upcoming flagship series’ camera. Though another report claims that this news of partnership is fake. The company has not officially partnered with the German camera giant.

A few days back Max Jambor, the tech journalist, has clarified that OnePlus has not done any kind of confirmed partnership with the German camera giant, Leica. He also claimed that this news of partnership is false. OnePlus 9 series is the one it was said to be featured in. The launch of the upcoming flagship series is [expected](https://technosports.co.in/2020/11/11/oneplus-9-series-will-come-with-two-models-launch-rumoured-for-march-2021/) to be in March 2021.

> I don't know who started this rumor, but OnePlus is NOT in a partnership with Leica regarding the OnePlus 9 Series cameras.
>
> This rumor is false. I wanted to get this cleared as I have read about it multiple times now.

Earlier, Pete Lau (CEO of OnePlus) has revealed in an interview that they are in the works of improving the camera performance of the upcoming OnePlus smartphones “with a bigger focus on software and hardware”. besides the flagship OnePlus 9 series, OnePlus is looking to improve its mid-range Nord series as well. As per the OnePlus 9 lineup, there will be a total of three smartphones: OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 SE, and the OnePlus 9 Pro. As of now, we don’t know whether all three smartphones will feature the Leica technology or only the Pro version will be blessed with that. Let’s wait for OnePlus’s further statements regarding this issue.

Every smartphone manufacturer always looks for something which can improve the camera modules of its smartphones, like good sensors, software optimizations, and stuff. But it is not always necessary to partner with leading brands for making something good. Despite all the rumors and reports, the main thing is people have built trust in OnePlus and we are sure that the brand will come up with some more interesting tech in the coming years.
