OnePlus fans in India may not have to wait long for the next big launch. A tipster says the **OnePlus 16R** is very likely headed to India, with a launch window of December 2026 or January 2027. The OnePlus 16 itself could follow as a second flagship. None of this is official yet, so let us separate what is confirmed from what is only a leak.

## OnePlus 16R India Launch: What We Know

The claims come from tipster Gadgetsdata on X, as reported by 91mobiles. According to the tip, OnePlus is preparing two flagships for India. The tipster called the 16R “very likely” and guessed that the OnePlus 16 would be the second phone. That would go against earlier reports that OnePlus might skip its top-end phones in the country.

The one firm piece of news in the story is on the China side: the OnePlus 16 is scheduled to launch in China on October 12. Everything about India, including the launch month, is still a tip.

The report adds that the OnePlus 16R may share specifications with the rumored OnePlus Ace 7. If that is true, the jump over the 15R would be large, especially in battery size and camera hardware.

## Price Could Be the Big Question

The rumored price of Rs 70,000 to Rs 75,000 would be a big step up. For context, the OnePlus 15R launched at Rs 47,999 and now sells for Rs 59,999 after several price hikes, according to the same report. Rising component costs have pushed up smartphone prices across the industry, so a higher starting price for the 16R would not be a shock, but it would change how the phone competes against other premium mid-range devices.

## Other Phones Competing for Attention

The report also notes that the iQOO 16, Motorola Signature 27 and Xiaomi 18 Pro have been confirmed for India. Buyers planning an upgrade this winter will have plenty of options, which may be one reason OnePlus is reportedly considering an India launch for both of its new phones.

## What Is Not Confirmed

OnePlus has not announced the 16R for India, a launch date, pricing or any specification. The OnePlus 16 has no confirmed India plan either. Treat the specs and the Rs 70,000 to Rs 75,000 price as rumors until the company says otherwise. **Should you wait?** If you are thinking of buying a OnePlus 15R now, this tip is useful context. A launch in December or January would put the 16R roughly a year after its predecessor, which fits the usual R-series rhythm. The rumored jump to a 200MP main camera and a 9,000mAh battery would be a large upgrade, but a price near Rs 70,000 to Rs 75,000 would also be well above the 15R’s launch price of Rs 47,999. Since all of this comes from a single tipster, patience is the safer choice until OnePlus confirms anything officially.
