[OnePlus](https://www.oneplus.in/)has confirmed that the **OnePlus 15R** will launch separately from its flagship sibling, breaking the brand’s tradition of launching Number and R series devices together. The company hinted at the 15R’s arrival during the OnePlus 15 global launch event, with a December 2025 release likely.

## **OnePlus 15R Launch: What We Know**

During the OnePlus 15 launch livestream, the company hinted at the 15R’s imminent release, though specific dates remain unannounced. The device is expected to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6, which already launched in China on October 27, 2025.

### **Why the Separate Launch?**

OnePlus released the flagship 15 ahead of schedule to become the first brand globally to launch a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powered smartphone. This strategic move allowed OnePlus to claim the “first-to-market” advantage with Qualcomm’s latest chipset, positioning the brand as an innovation leader in the premium segment.

## **Massive Battery Champion**

The OnePlus 15R could pack a 7,800mAh battery, making it even larger than the flagship 15’s 7,300mAh cell. This would make the 15R an endurance champion in the mid-range segment, easily delivering two-day battery life for most users. The device supports 120W wired charging but omits wireless charging capabilities.

## **Powerful Yet Affordable**

The OnePlus Ace 6 launched in China starting at CNY 3,899 (approximately ₹46,000) for the top-end 16GB/1TB variant. Indian pricing for the 15R is expected to be competitive, likely starting around ₹35,999-₹39,999 for the base variant, positioning it against the Realme GT series and Nothing Phone lineup.

The OnePlus 15R retains the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (not Gen 5), which still delivers flagship-level performance for gaming, multitasking, and everyday tasks. It features a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for enhanced security, a significant upgrade over optical sensors.
