The OnePlus 12 has been a subject of internet buzz for a while now, with numerous leaks and rumors hinting at its exciting features. OnePlus has finally made an official announcement regarding their collaboration with BOE, a display manufacturer. This revelation comes after earlier leaks had already hinted at the presence of a BOE-made display in the upcoming OnePlus 12.
OnePlus took to Weibo to share the news, solidifying their partnership with BOE. Interestingly, it’s not just OnePlus venturing into this partnership; it seems OPPO is also joining the cooperative venture with BOE, as suggested by the shared post. We previously shared some leaks about the OnePlus 12’s display specifications, and now OnePlus has made it official.
BOE Display on the Upcoming OnePlus 12
While OnePlus’s official announcement doesn’t delve into intricate details about the display specifications, previous leaks from sources like DCS have shed some light on what to expect. The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to feature a 3000-nit AMOLED display. This marks a significant improvement over the display used in the previous OnePlus 11, which was manufactured by Samsung. With this enhancement, OnePlus 12 promises a vastly superior visual experience.
In terms of size and resolution, the device is set to feature a 6.82-inch display with a resolution of 3168×1440, resulting in a 19:8:9 aspect ratio. This larger display is a notable upgrade from the 6.7-inch screen of the OnePlus 11. The most striking improvement, however, lies in the brightness department, as the OnePlus 11 offered a maximum screen brightness of 1300 nits, whereas the OnePlus 12 is expected to shine even brighter.
Additional information about the smartphone reveals that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and come in a variant with 24GB of RAM and a whopping 1TB of storage. The trend of Chinese manufacturers offering models with 1TB storage has gained momentum, and it seems that the OnePlus 12 is gearing up to be part of this elite club. As for its release date, the phone is rumored to be unveiled by the end of 2023, further heightening the anticipation among OnePlus enthusiasts.
